Once upon a time…
…in 1994, Anne Pajunen and Lena Frilund started the MIELI-ensemble.
Since then the ensemble has not only change their name – it has staged over 20 productions and numerous small acts presented at theatres, art halls, international festivals and in the public space, to name a few.
Since 2016 Gino Robair (percussion, electronics, prepared piano etc) has joined the ensemble, and we are also happy to have Fredrik Olofsson (computer, coding, collaborator on instrument development) and Åsa Karlberg playing flutes. We now have House of S.M.O.K 2.0 one could say!
S.M.O.K is currently running the new chamber series called CALMSLEEP CHAMBERS, to which we invite artists and other interesting people to collaborate over a mutual interest.
We are also working on several upcoming chamber operas and hybrid performance works and installations!
Below is a selection of S.M.O.Ks productions through the years.
